Job description

We are looking for a Finite Element Analysis (FEA / FEM) Simulation Engineer who will be involved in several projects related to an international automotive. In cooperation with other Engineering functions, you will be a team member capable of handling sub-system complexity but can be the technical lead for a minor project. Capable of diagnosing and resolving functional and endurance issues.

  • Construct Finite Element Models using Ansys to develop mechanical structural solutions for automotive systems.

  • Validate model results on physical hardware.

  • Use solid modeling tools to document mechanical solutions.

  • Constructively engage cross-functional teams including; Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, and external suppliers.

  • Maintain coherent design history and present solutions in peer reviews.

  • Perform trade studies to find solutions within functional, cost, and schedule constraints.

  • You will support our employees with the execution of simulations as well as with the preparation and presentation of results.


  • You are an engineer (Diplom, Bachelor, Master) in the field of mechanical engineering or a comparable course of studies and have already gained experience of 4 years in Finite Element Analysis (FEM).

  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical operations such as exponents, logarithms and apply those methods to analyses involving frequency distributions, reliability, analysis of variance and factor analysis.

  • Proficiency with finite element analysis (FEA / FEM), mechanical simulation. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite necessary. 

  • Capable of identifying appropriate analysis and tests required to arrive at fact-based decisions. Comfortable with participation and interpretation of results from advanced tools, including Design of Experiments and CAE (Finite Element Analysis, Simulation).

  • Able to design appropriate validation experiments using test lab equipment, and FEA simulation.
